Lewes took part in National Night Out, a program that gathers law enforcement agencies, fire departments, FOP lodges, individuals, church and community groups dedicated to the promotion of crime prevention and safety.
This year the event was held Aug. 6 in George H.P. Smith Park. Lewes Police Sgt. Sherrie Harmon helped organize the event. About 300 citizens attended the event where they were offered free burgers, hot dogs, french fries, ice cream, candy, toys, gifts, music and game and toy raffles. Several bikes were raffled off. Music by The Movies played in the background.
