Harrison House of Georgetown is joining forces with Atlanta-based Morrison Senior Living to bring wholesome, nutritious and flavorful meals to its 139 residents.

Harrison House of Georgetown, which had previously managed its own food service operations, will launch its partnership with Morrison in August.

“We’re thrilled to have Morrison as our food service partner,” said Michael J. Jacobs, CEO. “Not only does Morrison align with our values, but they will bring their passion for creating foods that are alive with flavor and nutrition, provide clinical expertise, and offer experienced leadership and resources to create customized solutions especially for our needs.

“Our commitment at Harrison House of Georgetown is to bring excellence in all that we provide, and that extends to the dining experience as well,” added Jacobs. “This new partnership with Morrison will allow us to deliver an enhanced dining experience to better serve our residents and their families.”

Morrison has been at the forefront of the industry on health and wellness for more than two decades. From fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables that provide flavor along with optimal nutrition to cuisine that entices the taste buds, the focus will be on healthy eating and wellness.

“’Our Food Rules’ is our guide to providing residents with healthful, whole, unprocessed foods,” said Kevin Svagdis, president of Morrison Senior Living. “We know residents are keenly interested in this and want great-tasting meals. They are excited about food as well as concerned with the impact nutrition plays in their health and well-being. We intend to bring that passion and inspire our chefs and teams to create foods worth talking about.”

Morrison plans to focus on menus based on seasonality and availability of regional fresh products, whole and least processed food, classic comfort foods prepared fresh and never purchased prepared, proteins produced without the routine use of antibiotics as a feed additive, no trans fats used in the kitchen or as ingredients in products purchased, vegetables prepared at the last possible minute to maintain freshness and sauces made from scratch.

“We’re excited to be a part of the Harrison House of Georgetown family and look forward to a great partnership with their residents, families and staff,” summed up Svagdis.
