The Starboard was decked out in pink Aug. 17 for the annual Big Wheel Races for Breast Cancer event. Children and adults competed against one another in a series of races, including drag race and obstacle course competitions. Proceeds from the event benefited Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Breast cancer awareness is a passion of Starboard owner Steve Montgomery, who lost his mother to this disease three years ago. Monty will host the third annual Dewey Goes Pink 5K during Breast Cancer Awareness Month Saturday, Oct. 5. For more information, go to races2run.com.
