Paul and Nellie Brashears celebrate 65th wedding anniversary Sept. 11

August 23, 2013

Celebrating 65 years of marriage, Paul and Nellie Brashears were married at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church in Baltimore, Md., on Sept. 11, 1948. In 1954, they moved from Baltimore to Eldersburg, Md., where they raised four children.

Paul worked for C&P Telephone and then Bell Atlantic for 30 years and retired in 1987. Nellie worked in various positions and retired from London Fog in Eldersburg. In 1996, Paul and Nellie moved to Milton, and in 2009 they relocated to their current home in the Greenwood Country Retirement Community.

Their family includes daughter Nancy Eshenbaugh of Baltimore; son Mark and daughter-in-law Jonni of Ellicott City, Md.; son Matthew of Westminster, Md.; and daughter Janet Kreft and son-in-law Stephen of Hampstead, Md. They have six grandchildren - Derrick, Melanie, Justin, Lauren, Jaclyn and Tyler - and five great-grandchildren.

Paul likes working in their beautiful yard, and they both enjoy watching the birds that occupy their many birdhouses. They also enjoy antique shopping and collecting, and spending time with family and friends.

Their loving family and circle of friends are delighted to acknowledge this wonderful occasion and hope to commemorate many more anniversaries with them.
