Fort Miles at Cape Henlopen State Park has scheduled tours for the next three months.

Lantern tours of the fort are planned for the following Saturdays: 6:30 p.m., Sept. 14; 6 p.m., Oct. 12; and 5:30 p.m., Nov. 2. Visitors can tour the fort's gun battery by lantern light and learn about its vital role during the war. Tours are limited to 30 and are for ages 10 and older with an adult; cost is $5. Preregistration is required.
Discover Battery 519 events are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., noon and 1:30 p.m., Saturday Sept. 21; 10:30 a.m., noon and 1:30 p.m. (open house style), Saturday, Oct. 19; and 10:30 a.m., noon and 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16. Visitors can learn how Battery 519 operated and see how the fort is being renovated to its World War II appearance. These tours are for ages 7 and older with a paying adult, $5.
Programs meet at the Orientation Building at Fort Miles, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
