I cannot praise the Rehoboth Beach Patrol enough for their vigilance and support of each and every swimmer in the open water event of the Sundance Run, Walk and Swim this past Sunday.
The ocean was particularly rough that morning, and I believe all the lifeguards were out on the water on boards, in kayaks or actually swimming with us participants.
Having never competed in this type of event, I was very anxious upon seeing the condition of the ocean. The Rehoboth Beach Patrol's role in this event allayed any fears I had and allowed me to complete the half-mile swim safely.
Kudos also to Seashore Striders for such great organization of four simultaneous events and to CAMP Rehoboth for its many and excellent volunteers.
