Delmed Health to host Health Fair Sept. 28 at Epworth UMC in Rehoboth

September 9, 2013

Preventive medicine should be the foundation of any healthcare system to help avert illnesses before they occur. The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, along with other medical specialties, advises that everyone should get an annual health examination, with a medical history and physical examination as well as screening tests performed or ordered.

Delmed Health Women's Health Services, 431 Savannah Road in Lewes, will host its Third Annual Health Fair from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road in Rehoboth.

The family-oriented fair will offer routine health checks including measurement of blood glucose and cholesterol, blood pressure check, clinical breast exam and mammogram, bone density, eye exam, facial skin screening and more. Beebe Medical Center will also provide a free flu clinic.

Staff will give guidance on referrals for people with abnormal results. Individuals of varied backgrounds and specialties will educate participants on aspects of health including preventive opportunities and resources, wellness, and improvement and modification in lifestyle. Physicians will be on hand at the Doctors’ Corner to answer questions.

Delmed Health is partnered with Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition for this event. Go to www.delmedhealth.com or call 302-644-9080 for more information.
