Best of Milton Auction and Party Sept. 21 has something for everyone

Downtown event benefits Milton Historical Society

The Milton Historical Society 's eighth annual Best of Milton Auction and Party will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, in the Milton Fire Hall, 116 Front St. in downtown Milton.

The annual event will feature silent and live auction items. Items to be bid on include art lessons by Abraxas, a signed print by Kevin Fleming, Delaware license tag C9191, a BMW child's pedal car, a scenic boat cruise down the Broadkill River, a one-hour flight on board a 1946 Aeronca plane with pilot John Chirtea, a ride in Milton's 1926 fire truck, art works, antiques, crafts, collectibles, home and garden packages, party packages, beauty treats for pampering people or pets and materials for the avid reader.

Sam Caligione, founder and president of Dogfish Brewery, has offered to lead a personalized tour of the brewery available to the highest bidder at the live auction.

This event, the largest fundraiser for the Milton Historical Society, helps fund the Lydia B. Cannon Museum's educational and public programs. Admission is $15 at the door. For more information, call 302-684-1010 or go to www.historicmilton.org.
