September 10, 2013

Cape Henlopen State Park will offer two fun family programs Saturday, Sept. 14. At 10 a.m., adults and children can search for insects and other creepy crawly critters on the Great Bug Hunt. Staff will lead an exploration of the park and look for all kinds of bugs.

This program meets at the Seaside Nature Center, costs $2 per person and is intended for ages 5 and up with a paying adult. One lucky attendee will win two free tickets to the Children’s Fantasy Trail. Register by calling the Seaside Nature Center at 302-645-6852.

At 4 p.m., visitors can enjoy a hayride through the park. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Seaside Nature Center starting at 9 a.m. Sept. 14. Each ticket is $5, and there is a limit of six tickets per person. The hayride is intended for ages 7 and up with a paying adult.

The Seaside Nature Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the free Borrow-A-Bike program is available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting. Park entrance fees are in effect.
