With everything poultry as a theme, the Rehoboth Beach Village Improvement Association on Sept. 7 had its second annual Chicken Plunge. It's billed as an alternative to those who prefer a warmer plunge in the Atlantic Ocean than the traditional Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics in February.
Proceeds from the event go to the VIA's capital campaign to renovate the organization's clubhouse, and the Rehoboth Beach Patrol. The VIA has been active in Rehoboth Beach since 1909.
The oldest person taking a brief dip was 94-year-old VIA member Amie Sloane, while the youngest was 11-week-old Dalton Zmuda of Lewes.
