Sussex Academy presented with Exceeding Standards banner

September 15, 2013

Students at the Sussex Academy in Georgetown joined in their second schoolwide assembly Sept. 6. Students in grades six to nine shared their first-week school experience and plans for the future.

The purpose of the assembly was to foster the school culture of Superior Academics, Awesome Students. The students were presented with a banner for Exceeding Standards.

The designation was based on 2013 DCAS test scores, and it marks the 11th consecutive year that Sussex Academy has exceeded the standards on the statewide assessment.

Out of 46 Delaware middle schools, Sussex Academy, a public charter school, was ranked by the News Journal in July as No. 1 in Delaware for reading, science and social studies and No. 2 for math.
