Harbeson caregiver awarded August Angel of the Month

September 17, 2013

Visiting Angels has named Cynthia Barnes of Harbeson as the recipient of its employee Angel of the Month Award for August.

The home care company provides services to help seniors and disabled adults remain independent and in their own homes for a better quality of life.

Barnes joined Visiting Angel’s staff of caregivers at the start of the summer season and quickly garnered high praise from her care recipients and their families. She has experience caring for people suffering from Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, stroke and other diseases requiring full hands-on personal care.

David Forman, president of Visiting Angels, said, “Cynthia has an excellent work ethic and wonderful attitude, approaching every new job as if she were caring for a member of her own family. She maintains great communication with our main office, offering to fill in for others when needed, and following up with even the smallest details of her clients’ needs and desires.”

Barnes is one of nearly 80 Visiting Angels employees who assist with personal care, light housekeeping including laundry and linens, preparing meals, running errands, providing companionship in the home, transportation to appointments and running errands for or with their care recipients.

Visiting Angels rewards employees based on their customer care and willingness to step in to meet the agency’s needs, even on short notice.

Forman said, “We’re pleased to have Cynthia as one of our very best employees. She has received multiple compliments from some of our most discerning care recipients, making this month’s award an easy choice. Our angels are the face and image of our company, and we only employ those who we would trust with our own families.”
