Blooming Boutique to host Trollbeads festival Oct. 11-13

September 17, 2013

Blooming Boutique in Lewes is hosting the first Trollbeads at the Beach, a Mid-Atlantic Festival Friday-Sunday, Oct. 11-13, in Lewes.

Trollbeads is an innovative jewelry concept that tells unique stories through interchangeable, artisan-quality beads made of Murano glass, sterling silver, semiprecious stones and 18-karat gold. By combining individual Trollbeads on a bracelet or necklace, wearers can design a meaningful, one-of-a-kind jewelry piece that represents a narrative of their accomplishments, life experiences and passions. Trollbeads is the original and first bead on jewelry company, started in 1976.

The three-day event will be held at various locations in historic downtown Lewes. American Trollbeads glass artisans Scott Bouwens and Gail Moore will be on hand demonstrating how Trollbeads are made. This will include an in-depth product knowledge and training course, ideas and sharing on jewelry design, and a question-and-answer session. Special guests attending include Trollbeads United States CEO Michael Belleveau and Kim Wahlberg, local Trollbeads representative, who has been with Trollbeads United States since the product arrived into the U.S. in 2005.

The main attraction is the Trollbeads, including a special shipment from Denmark of Unique beads, the artisan, one-of-a-kind Murano glass beads. Special offers are available exclusively in the Lewes store and at the Saturday event. The venue is limited, so visit the website or store for more details and to get tickets.

A free Red Carpet Affair at the Beach with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at Blooming Boutique, 118 Second St., Lewes; register online at www.bloomingboutique.com or RSVP at the store. A wine tasting will be hosted by Teller Wines. A special raffle of an 18K gold Ocean Bead with proceeds to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition will take place.

Register from 8 to 9 a.m., Saturday for the Trollbeads at the Beach Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring glass artisans, presentations, an exclusive assortment of artisan, unique beads and unprecedented inventory of all newest releases. There will also be special offers exclusive to festival attendees only. A buffet luncheon will be served. Ticket is required, $45. The festival will take place at Lewes Presbyterian Church on Kings Highway. Also on Saturday, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., is Sunset Cruise, boarding at Fisherman's Wharf Charters on the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal. Ticket, $55, includes three-hour cruise with drinks, heavy hors d'oeuvres, DJ and dancing.
