Sussex Tech Adult Division offers two electrical courses

Courses start Oct.5 and Oct. 11

Sussex Tech Adult Division in Georgetown will start two new electrical courses in October.

Introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers is a 60-hour course combining lecture and hands-on lab lessons. It will utilize Allen-Bradley software and cover PLC electrical safety, hardware, ladder logic theory, programming instructions, inputs, outputs, bit, timer and counters, math functions, networks, troubleshooting and servicing, and troubleshooting the PLC system.

The class will be held 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturdays, Oct. 5 through Dec. 7. The cost is $399.

The Solar Design and Installation course is also 60 hours. Students are taught solar panel system design, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance by a North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners-certified instructor. This course is recognized as required training to become a participating contractor with the Delaware Green Energy Program as a solar installer.

The Solar Design and Installation course is taught from 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11 through Nov. 30. The cost is $749.
