Office of Early Learning launches online promotion for website and social media resources

September 23, 2013

The Delaware Office of Early Learning has launched an online promotion designed to direct people to its family-focused website, Facebook and Twitter pages. The website, www.greatstartsdelaware.com, contains a comprehensive collection of resources for families with young children, and the social media sites are full of additional tips related to early learning in the First State.

Participants who like Greatstartsdelaware on Facebook, or follow Greatstartsde on Twitter, are asked to go to the website and click Enter to Win in order to register for the promotion.

By providing basic information (name and email), families are entered into a weekly random drawing to win family fun packs for family activities, such as gift cards to movie theaters, bowling, activity centers, museums, etc.

Each week beginning in September and through the end of October, multiple winners will be selected including winners from each county each week. Winners’ names will be listed on www.greatstartsdelaware.com.

“With the information available to us about the importance of early learning, we want to ensure that families have access to as many great resources as possible,” said Harriet Dichter, executive director, Delaware Office of Early Learning. “Making it fun for families to sample our website and social media tools is one way to steer them to these resources.”

The Great Starts Delaware Facebook, Facebook.com/greatstartsdelaware and Twitter pages twitter.com/GreatStartsde, offer biweekly links to upcoming events, as well as interesting articles and brief videos about early learning for young children and their families. The website is also optimized for use on mobile devices to enable families to have access on the go.
