Milford freshman goalie Brianna Cahall had 16 real deal saves Sept. 12 as two-time defending state champion Cape Henlopen applied unrelenting pressure, putting 30 shots on the net on the way to a surprisingly dominant 10-1 victory.
Cape goalie Katie Kolobielski had two saves and has never faced 30 shots in a game in her career.
"The Milford goalie is talented, but I think at times she tried to do too much and got out of position," Cape assistant Debbie Windett said. "We have a difficult stretch ahead and just keep working to get better."
Cape is scheduled to play Seaford at home at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17. Seaford, once a power program, is 0-3 on the season and has been outscored 12-0, most recently with a 9-0 loss to Delmar in which they were outshot 43-1.
