Ennis Eagle Walk set for Oct. 26; sponsor forms now available

September 19, 2013

The Howard T. Ennis School in Georgetown will host its annual Ennis Eagle Walk Saturday, Oct. 26. The 2.5-mile walk will start in the backyard of the Ennis School, wrap around Delaware Tech Owens and end back at the school.

The Howard T. Ennis School educates children ages 2 to 21 with severe cognitive disabilities. Through this fundraiser, the school hopes to raise money to purchase much-needed equipment for its students.

Walkers are encouraged to pick up a registration form immediately so they can acquire sponsors. Forms can be obtained at the school or by asking an Ennis staff member. The registration fee is $10, which includes an event T-shirt. Registration starts promptly at 9 a.m., with the walk beginning at 10 a.m.

The event will feature a moon bounce and face painting for children as well as a silent auction. The school will also hold a raffle for a 42-inch Smart TV and a Sony Blu-Ray player. There will be a jeep show by the Eastern Shore Jeep Alliance and a performance by local band and gracious Ennis supporters Delaware Town Famous. Organizers have expressed thanks to the many Sussex County businesses that have donated items to the silent auction.
