Ocean Atlantic Realty welcomes new realtor Lisa Barros

September 21, 2013

Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty announces the recent addition of Lisa Barros to its team of real estate professionals. “We are thrilled to have Lisa on board with us at Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s,” said Justin Healy, broker at OASIR. “In addition to a diverse and interesting professional career path that ultimately led her to the field of real estate, Lisa has deep roots in our local community.”

Barros is a native Delawarean who has resided in all three of its counties.  A summer resident of Rehoboth Beach for the past seven years, she and her family moved to the area full time in 2012. After earning her degree in business management from Wilmington University and an MBA in marketing from University of Bridgeport, Barros worked for American Brands in Stamford, Conn., for three years. She returned to Wilmington  in 1989 and worked for Lyons Advertising as an account manager for a variety of clients, from small startup firms to global companies such as DuPont. She subsequently started providing consulting services for small businesses until she took a hiatus to raise her three children.

Barros remained active on several boards during this time, coordinating special events and fundraisers, while simultaneously developing an avid interest in real estate, buying and selling four different properties and building three custom homes. As she has been on both sides of the table many times, she is knowledgeable on what is important to a buyer and to a seller. When she’s not working, Barros can be found on the beach and cycling in the summer and on the slopes of Park City, Utah, in the winter.

“The real estate market in Sussex County, and especially coastal Delaware, has seen a dramatic increase in sales thus far in 2013,” said Healy. “We see a marked improvement in volume across all price ranges and are delighted to expand our team to include Lisa. She is a most welcome addition, and we look forward to the market continuing its upward trend into 2014.”
