Opening reception for Denise Dumont exhibit set for Oct. 4

The Station Gallery will host a solo exhibit of works by Delaware-based artist Denise Dumont from Oct. 4 to 26, with a wine and cheese opening reception to meet the artist from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4, at the gallery, 3922 Kennett Pike in Greenville.

Dumont's exhibit, The Beach & The Brandywine Valley, features new landscape paintings in oil. Dumont enjoys painting outdoors in the plein air tradition and works on larger canvases in her studio.

This show includes paintings of the Delaware beaches, the Brandywine River and landscapes in and around the region. "My favorite scenes are usually found in the light of early morning or late afternoon when the shadows are deep and dramatic," said Dumont.
