Prudential Gallo, Realtors, a family-owned real estate company in the Cape Region since 1979, has announced that at the beginning of 2014 it will be affiliated with the brand-new Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices real estate network.

The Berkshire Hathaway network, owned by Warren Buffet, recently purchased the Prudential Real Estate Affiliates and is in the process of converting current Prudential Real Estate Affiliates to the new brand. Of the many industries and companies that Berkshire Hathaway owns or has an interest in, the new real estate franchise is one of the only ones that will actually carry the Berkshire Hathaway name.

“This is a most exciting time for our company and our agents”, said Andrew Ratner, vice president of Prudential Gallo. “Since Berkshire Hathaway came on board last fall, we knew this was the right move for us. This is really a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become part of what is widely recognized as the most admired and successful business organization in the world. We were honored to be one of the top 75 affiliates [out of nearly 500 Prudential franchisees] to be invited to join the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network as part of its initial roll-out. By the time we join the network at the beginning of the year, the newly formed Berkshire Hathaway network will be one of the largest real estate franchises in the country.

“Our company is based on the principles of honesty, integrity, outstanding service and community involvement. The Prudential brand echoed these principles, and the new Berkshire Hathaway brand is modeled on the same principles and values as well,” said Ratner. “We have been the top company in Sussex County in market share over the last couple of years, and the new franchise will enable us to expand our resources and marketing tools to continue to be the No. 1 real estate firm in Sussex County. I am confident that our clients will be excited as well, having a sign in their yard that represents the finest company in the world.”

Prudential Gallo was established in 1979 by Sal and Bette Gallo. The company joined the Prudential network in 1989, and the new affiliation with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices will take place at the beginning of 2014. The company includes more than 100 real estate agents and staff, and has four locations in Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and Bethany Beach. The firm will remain family owned and managed.
