The Charity Wishlist posts first two wishlist catalogs

October 6, 2013

The Charity Wishlist, a Milford-based business, has created its first wishlist catalogs to help two organizations fulfill urgent needs for specific items. TCW has posted wishlists for The Timberline Church in Fort Collins, Colo., which has been housing many flood victims on its grounds, and the Food Bank of Delaware, a nonprofit organization in Delaware that solicits, warehouses and distributes food through a network of 508 hunger-relief program partners.

The wishlist catalogs were designed to help organizations that need goods rather than money, and make it easier for the public to donate items groups truly need. When visitors go to www.thecharitywishlist.org and click on Wishlists, they will see a current list of catalogs to choose from. After selecting the wishlist for the charity or organization they want, a list of products the charity is providing will appear. People can select specific items to purchase and even select to purchase multiple quantities. The price of shipping is included in the item price.

TCW staff will fulfill those items and in the case of the Colorado flood victims, drop ship them to the church, or for businesses that are more local like Food Bank of Delaware, will deliver them personally to the door.

The Colorado flood victims are in need of coats, socks, underwear, sweat shirts, sneakers and other items for men and women, as well as tents, backpacks and sleeping bags. Church officials say while some people are starting to be able to return to their homes as roads reopen, many of them will have very little that is salvageable.

The Food Bank of Delaware is in need of specific food items including cereal, canned tuna, chicken, fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, and pasta and rice.

TCW is also still collecting donations for business owners devastated by the fire in Seaside Heights, N.J., through its Disaster Relief Fund. In just a week, $800 has been donated locally, and TCW has been contacted by a businessman and a student organization in New York who want to donate as well.

Those who wish to donate to the N.J. fire victims can do so by going to www.thecharitywishlist.org and clicking on Donate Today at the top of the page. All donations are made securely through TCW's Authorize.net portal. For companies or individuals who wish to send a donation in the form of a check of money order, they can be made out to: The Charity Wishlist, 626 Beechwood Ave., Milford, DE 19963, with Disaster Relief Fund in the memo line.
