Frankis's Sky Rock exhibit opens in Lewes Oct. 5

October 2, 2013

Love of classic rock music and a passion for painting ethereal skies on canvas were the driving forces behind the creation of the Sky Rock Show by Yvonne Frankis.

Sky Rock is a twist on the standard art opening, as each painting is linked to a classic rock song containing the word "sky" in its title.

For opening night, being held Saturday, Oct. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., at No. 9 Studio near Wescoats Corner in Lewes, Frankis presents at least 16 paintings named after and representing the classic rock songs which served as the inspiration for each piece of art.  Music with accompanying videos for each painting will cement the theme on opening night.

Frankis, who's been a local artist for 17 years, began training in the arts at age 9.  She is  a member of the Rehoboth Art League and has shown at MIXX Restaurant in Rehoboth, Abbott's Grill in Milford, The Kitchen in Milton, CAMP Rehoboth, Ocean Medical Imaging and Ocean Atlantic Sotheby's Stroll & Roll Art Walk.
