Spooky family programs offered at Cape Henlopen State Park starting Oct. 18

Halloween is coming, and so are two special programs at Cape Henlopen State Park.

A Full Moon Hike begins at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18. This program meets at the Seaside Nature Center and is intended for ages 7 and older with a paying adult. There is a fee of $2 per person. Preregistration is required; call 302-645-6852.

At 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, is the Cool, Not Creepy Creatures program, which meets at the Seaside Nature Center and costs $2 per person. It is intended for ages 7 and older with a paying adult. Preregistration is recommended; call 302-645-6852. One lucky participant will win two free tickets to the Children’s Fantasy Trail Oct. 25-27.

The Children’s Fantasy Trail is set for 6 to 8:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Oct. 25 and 26, and 6 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 27. All are welcome to wear a Halloween costume and trick-or-treat with favorite fictional characters.

The Seaside Nature Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the Borrow-A-Bike program is available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting. Park entrance fees are in effect. For more information, go to destateparks.com.
