Zumba by Kelly donates to Lewes Canalfront Park

October 9, 2013

The Friends of the Lewes Canalfront Park received a generous donation Sept. 23 from Kelly Serpico of Zumba by Kelly. The presentation took place at the park in Lewes, overlooking the scenic Lewes-Rehoboth Canal.

Serpico's gift reflects offerings received at the free Zumba sessions held every Wednesday during the summer season. Accepting on behalf of the Friends, Board Chair Stephanie Boright said, “This wonderful contribution back to Canalfront Park reflects the spirit of our city park and allows us to support great programs for everyone in the community, as well as visitors, to enjoy."

Serpico said, “In just the first year, Zumba at Canalfront Park was definitely a success! We had great attendance with participants of all ages having fun together. Mark your 2014 calendar, when Zumba by Kelly will resume in the park on Wednesday, May 14, and be held weekly through the end of summer."

For those who want to continue Zumba throughout the year, Serpico teaches at the Coastal Dance Academy at the Village at Five Points in Lewes. Classes are available at convenient times four days a week, and the first class is free for new participants. More information and a current schedule can be found at www.kellyserpico.zumba.com.

The Friends organization welcomes new members and volunteers. For more information, go to www.lewescanalfrontpark.org, like the park on Facebook or call the information hotline, 302-645-2795.
