Cape cross country runs at Brecknock Park

Cape boys push talented CR team

The Cape Henlopen boys' and girls' cross country teams went to run against Caesar Rodney Sept. 30 at Brecknock Park off Old Camden Road and got beaten, as anyone who is following this high school season figured would happen.

But the Cape boys kept it close at 23-34. The top 15 included Sam Phillips CR, 16:39; Austin MacElrevey Cape, 16:55; Brandon Brooks CR, 17:13; Ryan Thornburg Cape, 17:19; Presten DeMarreau CR, 17:23; Nat Wining CR, 17:29; Solomon Cox Cape, 17:36; P.J. Gallucci CR, 17:44; Sidney Miller Cape, 18:17; Thomas Gallucci CR, 18:26; Bill Dawson CR, 18:27; Clay Radford CR, 18:30; Levi Gable CR, 18:41; Wesley Faircloth CR, 18:42 and Ben Velasquez Cape, 18:45.

The Caesar Rodney girls beat Cape 18-43 led by Rebekah Mills, 20:07. The remaining order included Christine Marks CR, 20:51;  Kate Bole CR, 21:14; Madison MacElrevey Cape, 21:37; Aleya Cummings CR, 21:51; Keren Rams Cape, 22:11; Channah Mills CR, 22:20; Marcianna Green CR, 22:43; Katherine Bird IR, 22:44; Sarah Dziak Cape, 22:48; Grace Brokaw Cape, 22:52; Maegan Stewart Cape, 23:08; Jeanette Beers CR, 23:17 and Nicolette Beer CR, 23:30.

The Cape boys continue to improve, with three runners under 18 minutes.
