Jay Caputo was acknowledged and thanked for his volunteer service to Meals on Wheels Delaware. Caputo is a longtime supporter of the Celebrity Chefs Beach Brunch. He has been a driving force as a committee member since 2009, recruiting new restaurants and sponsors, and has participated as a chef and restaurateur since the events inception. The Annual Celebrity Chef’s Beach Brunch benefiting Meals on Wheels Delaware took place Oct. 6 at the Rusty Rudder. This popular event drew a large crowd of supporters out to taste the food from 25 local restaurants while supporting Meals on Wheels Delaware.
Since 1996, Meals on Wheels Delaware events have raised more than $5 million for home delivered meal programs in Delaware. In 2012, 2,500 volunteers across the state delivered nearly 635,000 meals to 4,000 homebound seniors.
