John Bellato honored as Canalfront Park Volunteer of the Year

John Ballato has been honored with the 2013 Beverly Gayhardt Volunteer of the Year Award by the Friends of Lewes Canalfront Park. Ballato coordinates volunteer activities at the park for events that include Concerts by the Canal, Cinemas by the Canal and Picnic in the Park.

Stephanie Boright, chair of the Friends board, said Ballato, “Embodies the spirit of the park, volunteering not only his time, but also business acumen and guidance with a positive attitude that benefits the entire community."

Lewes Canalfront Park exists and thrives because of past and ongoing support of individual citizens, businesses and foundations. The Friends of the Lewes Canalfront Park, under the umbrella of the Greater Lewes Foundation, support the programs of the park, the city of Lewes provides maintenance, and citizens like Ballato from throughout the Cape Region volunteer.
