The Way Home volunteer to speak at Lewes Presbyterian Church Nov. 10

October 27, 2013

Tony Tilson, who was featured in the September issue of Delaware Beach Life, will speak at Lewes Presbyterian Church beginning at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 10, in the Fellowship Hall.

Tilson’s life was changed twice. At the age of 17, he was desperate to get out of a chaotic home life, but he needed money. What happened that night changed his life drastically for the next 23 years. During his time in prison, Tilson's life was changed once again.

Tilson was mentored by and gained emotional support from The Way Home, a nonprofit organization that helps former prisoners re-enter the community. Tilson has worked with The Way Home to teach conflict resolution workshops in prison. He volunteers his time speaking to young people, counseling them to not make the same mistakes he made. He speaks of his changed life. Local church youth groups and high school and middle school students are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
