Scott’s Gallery at Epworth United Methodist Church announces a new exhibit by Ocean Waves Quilt Guild. The exhibit will run from Monday, Oct. 28, through Wednesday, Dec. 4, with an opening reception from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 3.

Members showing their work are Rhonda Adams, Linda Bruce, Carol Fisher, Linda Gabriel, Denise Laux, Pat Morrissy, Carol Senerchia, Pat Steele, and Dee Taylor.

Ocean Waves Quilt Guild is a community of quilters serving greater Sussex and Kent counties. The group originated in 1997 with 18 members. Today the guild has nearly 200 members who donate their efforts toward community service. Their quilts are at Beebe Medical Center’s Tunnel Cancer Center, and tote bags are given to the homeless.

Teddy Bears are made for children of fallen soldiers and are given to police departments, fire stations, hospitals and social service agencies to be distributed to children in crisis. Pillowcases are made for hospital patients; quilts are sent to service men and women, and welcome baskets are prepared for new homeowners through Habitat for Humanity.

The guild offers a wide assortment of educational opportunities. Guest speakers come throughout the year and share their talents through lectures and workshops.

Members meet the first Monday of each month at Lewes Presbyterian Church, 133 Kings Highway, Lewes.  Visit www.oceanwavesquiltguild.org.

Epworth is at 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach. For more information, go to www.eumcrb.org, email communications@epworth-rehoboth.org or call the church office at 302-227-7743.
