Tidewater Utilities tournament raises $14,245 for YWCA Delaware
Tidewater Utilities Inc. recently presented a check to YWCA Delaware, the beneficiary selected to receive proceeds raised from its Sixth Annual Charitable Golf Tournament held Aug. 12 at the Heritage Shores Golf Course in Bridgeville. Tidewater presented YWCA Delaware with a check for $14,245.
“This year, through our tournament, we were pleased to support an organization whose efforts to end racism and empower women is felt statewide,” said Jerry Esposito, president, Tidewater Utilities Inc. “We thank all those who supported the outing. Their commitment to this important endeavor is equally matched by their desire to build stronger communities."
YWCA Delaware was founded in 1895 and is a statewide organization dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. Annually, some 6,000 to 7,000 people participate in its comprehensive programs. YWCA Delaware is a leading advocate for women by providing housing, violence prevention, economic empowerment, racial justice and youth programming.
Proceeds from this year’s outing will help support YWCA Girl, a program that improves the lives of low-income, at-risk girls by helping them graduate from high school, and offering guidance to help them on a path to achieve their higher education and career goals.
