Wanona 'Sissy' Figueroa, accounting retiree

Wanona “Sissy” Figueroa, 59, of Millsboro passed away at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Friday, Oct. 25, 2013.

Born Sept. 13, 1954, in Paterson, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Bernard S. and Alejandrina Suffern. She lived in New Jersey, Florida, Michigan and Virginia before settling in Delaware. Sissy worked in the accounting field before retiring.

She is survived by her sons: Renzo Carrillo and his wife Rachael, and Emilio Figueroa Jr. and his wife Natalie. She is also survived by her daughters: Lisa Martinez and Denise Figueroa; along with a brother: Russell Suffern; her nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her brother: Clifford Suffern.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 28 at Watson Funeral Home; 211 South Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior to pay respects, and visit with the family. Pastor Andrew Ehlers will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society; 733 Third Ave., Third Floor, New York, NY 10017.
