Saturday Before the Season Fashion Show set Nov. 23

Raises funds for international education programs

Sixteen local businesses will participate in the sixth annual Fashion Show at Delaware Tech’s Saturday Before the Season event Saturday, Nov. 23. The event raises funds for international education programs at Delaware Tech’s Owens Campus in Georgetown.

The following stores will be presenting the season’s latest fashions in the show, which features a New York-style runway:

Azura, Rehoboth Beach; Blooming Boutique, Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Bethany Beach, Milford; Brides 2 Be, Lewes; Carlton’s, Rehoboth Beach; Coolspring Cottage, Milton; Deanna’s, Lewes; The Fabulous Dress, Rehoboth Beach; haven blu, Bethany Beach; Jane & Georgie, Rehoboth Beach, Josephine’s Daughter, Rehoboth Beach; The Lilypad Children’s Boutique, Rehoboth Beach; Pineapple Princess Swim & Resort Wear, Rehoboth Beach; The Pink Crab, Rehoboth Beach and Annapolis, Md.; The Rose Garden, Rehoboth Beach; Tiger Lili, Rehoboth Beach; and Twila Farrell, Lewes.

Tickets are $35 and include a wine and cheese reception and open seating for the show, which runs from 1 to 3 p.m. Funds raised at the event support Study Abroad scholarships for students, as well as the college’s Global Understanding Series, which offers workshops and presentations open to students and the community for free.

The Village Shoppes, a collection of local boutiques and stores, will be open the same day in the Student Services Center for the general public from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. with no charge for admission. In addition to the opportunity to shop many local merchants under one roof, there will be fashion, cooking, and health and beauty demonstrations throughout the day. There will also be several local restaurants offering the opportunity to sit down and enjoy a leisurely lunch or purchase light fare while shopping.
