VIA marks Domestic Violence Awareness Month

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, donations from the Village Improvement Association were delivered to People’s Place in Milford.

Jan Conant, left, Delaware State Federation of Women's Clubs chairwoman for Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention, presents toiletries, school supplies, socks, slippers and First Night Bags to People's Place Communications and Donor Relations Manager Kim Rigby. The supplies will aid victims of domestic violence. Substantial deliveries were also made in April and July 2013.

Conant said, “The Delaware State Federation of Women’s Clubs has actively participated in the General Federation of Women’s Clubs' signature project, Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Program, since 2006. Our club women truly value the commitment and partnership with People’s Place as we continue to help people find their paths to growth and independence.”
