SCFCU launches drive to benefit Food Bank of Delaware

November 13, 2013

Community members across Sussex County united for good during a recent weeklong food drive to benefit the Food Bank of Delaware.

Businesses, individuals and groups such as the students from the Sun Dragon Martial Arts Academy showed their support by donating more than 230 pounds of nonperishable food items to help stamp out hunger at Sussex County Federal Credit Union's recent food drive.

Sussex County FCU Vice President of Marketing Sharee Coleman expressed her appreciation for members of the community joining Sussex County FCU during the celebration of International Credit Union Week. Coleman said, “As a financial cooperative, we have an obligation to give back to the communities we serve and enhance the lives of others. Choosing to host a food drive was a perfect way to support our members, friends and neighbors in need. As a token of SCFCU’s appreciation, each food donor was entered to win a Visa gift card. Thank you to each and every donor for making a difference!”

For more than 54 years, Sussex County Federal Credit Union has existed as a not-for-profit, member-owned and -operated financial institution serving those who live, work, worship, attend school and/or volunteer in Sussex County. Go to www.sussexcfcu.com for more information.
