Hollywood comes to Georgetown Christmas Parade Dec. 5

November 17, 2013

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce is hoping its annual Christmas Parade, scheduled to step off at 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, in Georgetown, will have all the glitz, glamor and glee of any red carpet event.

“We usually have over a hundred entries in our parade,” said event Director Karin Joensen. “But we expect our Hollywood Christmas theme could attract even more this year, and we hope all the participants will decorate with the idea of a beloved holiday movie or TV show in mind."

As always, the floats, marching bands, clubs, cars, and trucks, etc. will be judged according to their individual categories, and could win awards. All participants will be judged for Best Theme and overall Best in Show.

To participate in the Georgetown Christmas Parade, visit www.georgetowncoc.com to access and submit an entry form online, or call the Georgetown chamber at 302-856-1544 for more information.

Currently, this year’s Georgetown Christmas Parade is being sponsored by Nanticoke Health Services, Del-One, Fulton Bank and The Insurance Market, and supported by other generous sponsors including Atlantic Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Lighthouse Catering, Perdue Farms, Servpro of Sussex County, Tyndall’s Construction and Wilmington University. The chamber encourages others to join the production too, and experience a splash of Hollywood in Sussex County.
