Rehoboth Art League to host Holiday Open House Dec. 7

The Rehoboth Art League campus will be decorated for the season, and the galleries will offer an impressive selection of art and holiday gift items for the 4th annual Holiday Open House Saturday, Dec. 7.  A member gallery of art and crafts, art demonstrations, music, craft workshops and Santa will make this day of hospitality a wonderful way to enjoy the beginning of the holiday season and find those special holiday gifts.

The schedule of activities for the day includes 10 to 11 a.m. - Roo Brown with Mixed Blessings a cappella group. From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. is Making a Fresh Holiday Centerpiece workshop with Diane Pirkey, $20 fee includes all supplies and instruction. Register online as class size is limited. From 11 to 11:45 a.m., Sussex Tech Bella Voce and Concert Choir will perform under the direction of Sarah Rose. From 11 a.m.. to 3 p.m. is “The Homestead Poems” book signing with author Gary Hanna with a special reading from the book at 2 p.m., and from noon to 2 p.m., Santa will be on hand.

Throughout the day, the Rehoboth Art League potters will be giving pottery demonstrations in the pottery studio, and there will be a children’s holiday craft table set up in the Tubbs Gallery.

Fine art and fine crafts from art league members will be on display and for sale in the Corkran, Tubbs and Ventures galleries throughout the holidays. The variety of holiday gift ideas will include jewelry, paintings, ceramics, glass work, sculpture, metal or wearable fiber art. The tree in the main gallery will be decorated with ornaments for sale made by member artists.

Gallery hours throughout the season are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m., Sunday. The gallery will be closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
