Ann Timmons named Angel of the Month for October

November 19, 2013

Visiting Angels has named Ann Timmons its employee Angel of the Month for October. The home care company provides services to help seniors and disabled adults remain independent and in their own homes for a better quality of life.

Timmons, a native of Lewes, joined Visiting Angels in September 2012 and quickly became one of its most requested caregivers. She started her career at Lewes Convalescent Center, now part of Beebe Healthcare's office campus, and has worked at Harbor Healthcare and other facilities all over the state where she gained extensive experience caring for people suffering from Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, stroke and other diseases requiring full hands-on personal care.

David Forman, president of Visiting Angels, said, “Ann approaches every new job as if she were caring for a member of her own family. She maintains great communication with our main office and attends to every need and desire of her care recipients and their families."

Timmons says she enjoys the one-on-one care she provides in people's homes and finds it very rewarding to be able to spend unhurried time with her care recipients. "Working in a facility with the responsibility of more than a dozen care recipients at a time has its own rewards, but working directly with the same care recipient over an extended period of time is like becoming a part of their family," Timmons said.

Timmons is one of nearly 80 Visiting Angels employees who assist with personal care, light housekeeping including laundry and linens, preparing meals, running errands, providing companionship in the home, transportation to appointments, and running errands for or with their care recipients.

Visiting Angels rewards employees based on their customer care and willingness to step in to meet the agency’s needs, even on short notice.

Forman said, “We’re pleased to have Ann as one of our very best employees. She has received multiple compliments from some of our most discerning care recipients.”
