Star of the Sea donates to Home of the Brave

November 28, 2013

Home of the Brave is now $8,000 closer to realizing its goal of replacing all of the old windows and siding on the building's exterior. The beautiful old home in Milford has been in need of better-insulated windows and siding for some time as well as permanent repairs to damage sustained during Superstorm Sandy.

The Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council No. 7297 from St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church in Rehoboth Beach presented an $8,000 check to Home of the Brave Nov. 4. Though the contribution doesn’t cover all the costs involved, it does provide a significant portion of the expense.

The Home of the Brave is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 by eight Vietnam veterans to help homeless veterans by providing them with shelter and assistance. The funds were raised through the recent Star of the Sea Council Golf Outing held at The Rookery South golf club.
