JROTC cadets post colors at Veterans Post 17
November 19, 2013
Members of the Cape Henlopen High School JROTC program posted the colors Nov. 11 at the Veterans Post 17 in Lewes. The color guard posted the colors and later rendered honors as the Post 17 bugler played “Taps” in honor of all veterans past and present.
This was a landmark event because it was the first time in Cape JROTC program’s history that the color guard was composed of all female cadets under the control of Cadet Staff Sergeant Alexandra Atsidis. Members of the color guard were Casea Carrasquillo, Olivia Baratto and Nicole Surface.
The group established another precedent as they are all members of the freshman or sophomore class.
