Mariner Middle School students reel in nine pairs of sneakers

November 28, 2013

Students at Mariner Middle School were surprised with new sneakers Nov. 4, thanks to Big Fish Grill. Students in the Functional Intensive Learning Center had no idea they were actually getting the pair of sneakers they tried on the day before at Famous Footwear, at the Tanger Outlets in Rehoboth. Their assignment was to determine their sneaker size and try on their choice of sneakers for the best fit.

There are nine students in the Functional ILC at Mariner: three sixth-graders, four seventh-graders, and two eighth-graders.

Shown clockwise from left foreground are McKenzie Sanford, seventh grade; Mercadez Wyatt, eighth grade; Hank Thomas, seventh grade, William Larrimore, eighth grade; Doug Mast, sixth grade; Tatyana Downing, sixth grade; Capone Perry, sixth grade; Scott Thomas, seventh grade; and Jeffrey Whitcomb, seventh grade.
