Delmarva Power accepting applications for mini-grants through Dec. 13

Delmarva Power is accepting applications through Friday, Dec. 13 for its annual Education Mini-Grant Program.

The program provides teachers with grants of up to $500 to support projects that focus on energy-related issues such as energy conservation, alternative energy and electrical safety. The money can be used to cover the cost of classroom materials, special lessons and projects.

“Delmarva Power is pleased to once again provide financial support for worthwhile educational activities,” said Michael Hoy, manager of customer and community relations for Delmarva Power. “During the last 23 years, we have awarded more than $227,000 in grant money to local schools through our Education Mini-Grant Program.”

Grants are available to public and private school teachers in kindergarten through 12th grade and special education in Kent and Sussex counties in Delaware and in Cecil, Harford and the Eastern Shore counties of Maryland.
