Conley’s UM Church to present Living Nativity Dec. 13 and 14
Conley’s United Methodist Church in Angola will present its Living Nativity from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13 and 14. This is the 13th year for the event, which has become a local Christmas tradition. It will take place off Camp Arrowhead Road in Angola. Admission is free, and there will be ample free parking. Golf carts to help the handicapped will be available each night. All donations of cash and canned goods go to local charities. There will be Christmas music in the church sanctuary both nights provided by church members and invited guests.
The Living Nativity is a way for people to remember the birth of Jesus by walking through a re-creation of the village of Bethlehem. The pageant will include 75 actors portraying angels, the innkeeper, the wise men, shepherds, townspeople and even Roman soldiers complete with chariot.
Last year more than 700 people visited the Living Nativity. The money and food donated helped area charities and needy families. These organizations included the Cape Henlopen Food Pantry, the Christian Storehouse, Jusst Sooup Ministry, and local shelters. The church makes no money on this event. The scenery, costumes and children’s’ gifts are created or donated entirely by members of Conley’s UMC.
In addition to the Living Nativity, Conley’s Church will have four candlelight worship services on Christmas Eve, Monday Dec. 24. The services will be at 4:30, 6:30 and 11 p.m. at the new church on Jolyns Way and at 8:30 p.m. at the old Conley's Chapel on Robinsonville Road

Conley’s UMC regular worship times are 6:30 p.m. Saturday nights and 8:45 and 10:30 a.m. Sundays. There are also active prayer and Bible study groups, as well as women’s, men’s and youth groups.
