Sussex Tech honors school nurses

December 10, 2013

School nurses Beth Light of Selbyville and Bonnie Hudson of Millsboro were named Co-Staff Members of the Month for November at Sussex Technical High School. In making the announcement, Dean of Students George Fisher commended the nurses for their constant professionalism and dedication to ensuring the welfare of the high school’s students.

Light came to Sussex Tech in 2000. She has worked in various areas of medical-surgical nursing, but the bulk of her career has been working with children and adolescents in inpatient/outpatient psychiatric settings. She has also taught psychiatric nursing to LPN students. She is a past president of the Delaware School Nurses Association.

Hudson has 25 years of background experience as an emergency room nurse. She joined Sussex Tech in 2002 after retiring from a hospital in Pennsylvania and moving to Sussex County.

“Mrs. Light and Mrs. Hudson handle various emergencies during the day and are always professional and caring toward our students,” said Fisher. “Sussex Tech is fortunate to have them as part of our family.”
