K-10 Dog Training announces AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy graduates

December 21, 2013

K-10 Dog Training announces the fall AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program graduates are Chris Berg with his second Saint Bernard, Rocky, and Lester Smith with his Havanese, Julie.

The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program is the puppy level of the Canine Good Citizen program. S.T.A.R. stands for Socialization, Training, Activity and a Responsible owner, all the things every puppy needs. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is not a one-time test like CGC testing can be. To earn the puppy award, puppies and their owners must attend a class lasting at least six weeks. Dogs can take the CGC test without completing AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy classes.

K-10 dog trainer Nancy LaFontaine is an ABC Certified Dog Trainer, AKC CGC Evaluator, and an ABC Mentor. K-10 Dog Training offers all levels of the AKC CGC programs from the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program; AKC's Canine Good Citizen and the newest Advanced CGC Level just released in October 2013, the AKC Community Canine. K-10 Dog Training offers all levels of obedience training: Basic Obedience (three class formats for clients' convenience), Advanced Obedience and Socializing. New classes are forming at three indoor locations in Rehoboth Beach, Lewes and Harrington. Grooming services are also offered through K-10 Dog Grooming.
