Holiday tree now on display in Canalfront Park

Friends of Lewes Canalfront Park extend an invitation to the Cape community to visit the park to see the holiday tree now on display on the Overlook Deck. The nine-foot tree, donated by Ernie and Donna DeAngelis, owners of Tomato Sunshine Garden Center and Farm Market, is covered with colorful lights and bears unique ornaments that recognize the sponsors of the 2013 Picnic in the Park. The next event is scheduled for Sunday, June 1, 2014.

Lewes Canalfront Park exists because of past and ongoing support of individual citizens, businesses and foundations. Funds were raised to preserve the land as a public park which had been considered for retail and residential development.

The Friends of the Lewes Canalfront Park, under the umbrella of the Greater Lewes Foundation, support the programs of the park. The City of Lewes provides maintenance, and citizens like the DeAngelis family from throughout the Cape Region contribute. The Friends organization welcomes new members and volunteers.
