Jacobs to read from 'Time Fries!' Dec. 21 at Proud Bookstore
Popular author and columnist for Delaware Beach Life and Letters from CAMP Rehoboth Fay Jacobs will read some of the funniest chapters from her new book, "Time Fries! - Aging Gracelessly in Rehoboth Beach" from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 21, at Proud Books on Baltimore Avenue, just across from Arena's Deli in the Village by the Sea Mall.
Jacobs has been doing readings from Provincetown, Mass., to New Orleans, La., and this Saturday will be the only local opportunity until spring to hear the author read from her hilarious new book.
This time, award-winning humorist Jacobs takes on the fight not to act her age, not to go quietly into Medicare, and not to miss any adventures along the way.
“It’s like she’s doing stand-up comedy,” says writer Carsen Taite, who attended a Jacobs reading in New Orleans. “She’s hilarious.”
“We usually save Fay for last at our group readings, since her writing and delivery guarantee that the audience leaves laughing!” says Paul Willis, executive director for the Saints and Sinners Literary Festival in New Orleans.
In addition to her four award-winning books, Jacobs has also contributed to The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, Delaware Today and Wilmington News Journal. A member of the Rehoboth Beach Writers' Guild, Jacobs also teaches memoir and humor classes for the group.
"Time Fries!" has a retail price of $17. The new book and Jacobs’ earlier books are available locally at Browseabout Books, Proud Bookstore, and online at Amazon.com among others. They are also available at www.aandmbooks.com. The ebook is currently available for Kindle, with Nook and iBook following shortly.
Dec. 21 at Proud Books will be the last time the author will be signing books locally for this holiday season.
