Le Ora Sarah Hanson, faithful Lutheran

Le Ora Sarah Hanson, 99, of Georgetown, passed away Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at Harrison House of Georgetown. She was born March 11, 1914, in Harris, Iowa, daughter of the late Alford and Nora (Wentler) Hanson.

After graduating high school, she married the late Lawrence J. Clausen of Hartley, Iowa. Here they would begin their married life and eventually raise their two children, Vaunna Jean and Dennis. Mrs. Hanson would later move to Sioux Falls, S.D., where she would meet and marry the late Clifford Hanson. As a farmer’s wife, Mrs. Hanson experienced the trials and tribulations of farming. Upon the death of Clifford, Mrs. Hanson relocated to Kutztown, Pa. to be closer to her family. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church and found daily solace in the reading of the Bible.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Hanson was preceded in death by her sister Cleatus Sheets and brother Mervin Mordvedt. Mrs. Hanson is survived by her son Dennis R. Clausen of Dagsboro; daughter Jean Gonnerman of Banning, Calif.; six grandchildren: David Clausen of Reisterstown, Md., Andrew Clausen of Providence Village, Texas, Jeffrey Clausen of Stevensville, Md., Jennifer Rodgers of Millsboro, Kristyn Gonnerman of Monrovia, Calif. and James Gonnerman of Banning; and seven great-grandchildren.

All services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
