Cape Henlopen High School’s Lifetime Fitness class turned up the heat Dec. 12 and engaged in a Hot Yoga class courtesy of Dimitra Yoga. Lifetime Fitness instructor Jennifer Hagan invited owner Dimitra Kotanides from Dimitra Yoga, located in The Plantations, to introduce the art of yoga as a lifelong activity to her students at Cape.

Much to Hagan’s surprise, the students expressed a desire to experience more opportunities with yoga. Kotanides in return invited the class to her studio. The class explored a Shore Hot Yoga class, which is a blend of discipline and stability of the stationary Original Hot Yoga series with brain-bending and creative variations. Students enjoyed the deep, slow pace of a stationary series with some unexpected twists and turns.

This rigorous class allowed the students to fine-tune alignment and invited them to enjoy each pose. The students extended their thanks to Kotanides for the experience.
