First State Manufactured Housing assists food drives in Kent and Sussex counties

December 28, 2013

Members of First State Manufactured Housing Association donated generously to help make the 2013 holiday season more joyful for their neighbors. A thousand dollars' worth of items was delivered to food banks around Sussex County through members' donations to the countywide food drive held in conjunction with Caroling on The Circle in Georgetown.

Todd F. Lawson, Sussex County administrator, said, “Caroling on The Circle brings out all that is good in our community, from our residents, businesses, schools, and organizations like First State Manufactured Housing Association. Thanks to their faithful generosity year after year, caroling continues to be a tremendous success and a source of relief for the neediest citizens in our community.”

A thousand dollars' worth of provisions was also contributed to the effort in Kent County to restock local pantries. “The contribution was so helpful in completing our boxes of canned food for the local pantries. We really appreciate this amazing donation; it truly made a difference in what we were able to present to the pantries this year,” said Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce Director of Special Events/Executive Assistant Cristal Brenneman.

“I am very proud that our members appreciate the value of sharing and are so willing to give back to our communities,” said First State Manufactured Housing Association Executive Jen Allen, “I truly cannot think of a better way to bring us all together in the spirit of this beautiful season than by sharing what we have with those who are less fortunate.”

First State Manufactured Housing Association was founded in 1994 with the mission of assuring that Delaware’s citizens have the opportunity to enjoy the privilege of home ownership. The association works toward this goal by maintaining and working to enhance the climate of the manufactured housing industry in Delaware.
