Rehoboth restaurants to celebrate Mardi Gras Feb. 12-16

February 8, 2010

Ten downtown Rehoboth Beach restaurants are gearing up for Mardi Gras festivities to be held Friday-Tuesday, Feb. 12-16, featuring special New Orleans cuisine and Cajun cooking, Bourbon Street beverages, Mardi Gras parties, live music and lots of beads.

Whether the restaurants specialize in Latin cuisine or burgers and beer, everyone will be going Cajun for downtown Rehoboth’s Mardi Gras. Participating restaurants will all feature New Orleans cuisine. Restaurants include Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats, Dos Locos Fajita & Stonegrill, Finbar’s Pub & Grill, Hobos Restaurant & Bar, Irish Eyes, Mariachi Restaurant, Pig + Fish Restaurant Company, Purple Parrot Grill, Porcini House and Rehoboth Ale House.

Although the Gumbo Cook-off is suspended for 2010, there will be lots of beignets (a New Orleans signature breakfast item), po’ boys, Cajun etouffe, and many other Cajun or Creole recipes.

There will be special Mardi Gras parties and meals all over town at participating restaurants. Visit downtownrehoboth.com for menu and party details, and addresses and phone numbers for each of the participating restaurants.

As part of the Mardi Gras celebration, participating restaurants and retailers will be selling raffle tickets to benefit future events and promotion and revitalization efforts in downtown Rehoboth Beach.

The grand prize winner(s) will receive a basket full of $25 gift certificates to select businesses in downtown Rehoboth Beach, including restaurants participating in Mardi Gras. For a list of prizes and ticket sales locations, visit the website below.
